Discrimination is the act of unfairly treating an individual or individuals in a group of people differently from other individuals or individuals in a group of people on the basis of race, sex or skin color. Reverse Discrimination is discriminating people of the majority group in favor of the minority or disadvantaged group (Pincus, 2008).
When members of a specific group have been locked out from a particular employment opportunity, it is said that this group has been discriminated in the sharing of the employment opportunity and desires to receive much more by means of compensation. Therefore, this group is compensated for the past discrimination in securing the employment. Thus, the existing majority group in the workplace will be discriminated in order to pay back for the earlier injustices. However, the individuals being compensated must prove that they belonged to the discriminated group, and they stood with similar chances of being given the employment opportunity but were discriminated against.
