Social responsibility can be explained as the willingness and ability of an organization, institution or an individual to reorganize an obligation to act for the benefit of the society. If we are to maintain a balance between the economy and the ecosystem, everybody has to carry an obligation of being socially responsible. In cases where economic development is priority, a balance between material and welfare of the society is social responsibility.
I regard cooperate social responsibility as the best way to address social responsibility. In a soap factory where I worked, the administration had a team of environmentalist who dealt with waste management. This minimizes the involvement of the government in the cooperation business of waste management.
Morality in some way is heavily connected to religion. Religion motivates and encourages people to do what is right to others (Hare, 1981).
In Tropical Africa deforestation due to lack of fuel if form of firewood and charcoal is the biggest threat to the environment in the recent time, however education by respective authority on climatic change and its effects have proved little productive.
Wilson et al (1991) explained that in many African traditional religions, social responsibility help gain God’s blessings with the help of good deities and ancestors. In this traditional religion, the community is of great importance where members of the same community help each other and also show social solidarity with is regarded as a norm.
