The explanation should be supported by references to the course readings.
The purpose of this assignment is to make sure that you are aware of the pervasiveness of these scripts and the fact that while they originated many years ago, they still linger and continue to show up in our everyday lives and experiences.

Racial Scripting
Race is largely a social concept than the natural differences in how people look. Physical appearance is just a criterion in which people classify others in different races. Racial scripting is a process that classifies an individual based on their appearance or originalities. This concept of scripting operates in three primary ways; highlights how racialized groups are acted upon by a range of principals, identifies the shared process of racialized groups, and finally, scripting is enhanced by victims as they put forth their scripts which directly challenge dominant racial scripts. Media stereotypes reflect and nurture common prejudices in that Asians are depicted as nerdy, African Americans as dangerous and Latinos as fiery. Such is the recent film Just Mercy which portrayed how getting justice as an African American is difficult.
