A Comparison of Three Perspectives on the Evolution of Technology
Technological progress has been measured and understood in many different ways, by various anthropologists, sociologists, and other researchers. However, there are similarities and differences between three different individuals and their thoughts on technological progress. One of these individuals was sociologist, Gerhard Lenski. A journalist, Alvin Toffler, and Leslie Alvin White, an anthropologist. While their beliefs on technological progress may seem different, there are similarities also. While Lenski and White offer insight into the relationship between technology and social evolution; Toffler offers insight into how technology is overwhelming to society's development. Overall, I want to describe these individuals and their theories on technological progress and our social world.
