Just war theory is a doctrine that ensures that war is justifiable morally. The justification is done through a series of criteria that must be met a war to be considered just. The criteria ensure that there is a morality of going to war and moral conduct within the war. For just war doctrine to hold certain conditions applies. All other means of putting the war to an end must be rendered ineffective, and the use of the arms must not produce evils and disorders serious than the evil attempted to be eliminated.2
However, there are times when the human source intelligence, counterintelligence or covert operations may pass the moral divide and violate the just war doctrine. Such examples may include the following. The human intelligence may provide biased information regarding another country or community with an aim of weakening it so as to fulfil their desires. Entering into a war under such circumstances without the verification how truth the intelligence brings out moral division thus violating the doctrine of the just war.
Counterintelligence may bring intelligence information that includes mistaken identities of persons especially where citizens of a country closely resemble one another. Wrong identities may be collected and declared terrorists due to their close identities. War may break out in an attempt to clear the terrorists in the form of just war that claim a lot of lives of innocent people.1
Covert operations planned to be executed through concealment of the identity has an effect on the citizens of a country and residents living outside it. It creates a political effect that has implications for the military because the identity of the sponsor is concealed.1
