Introduction
In this paper, I will interview a family friend, Zhang Yong, an individual well versed with monks in the Buddhist culture. Monk is an individual who has made a decision to dedicate his entire life to his religion. Their lives are usually dedicated to religion and the activities of the religion, and live a simpler life away from the chaos of normal life. Monks tend to have a very different lifestyle, simple, and with few possessions. They tend to stay away from complexities of life and belongings allowing them focus on their religion. Becoming a monk requires a high level of dedication and devotion, a life committed to celibacy, a life that only a few can choose. Some monks choose solitary life because they believe that being alone is necessary for ultimate focus.
