The industrial revolution resulted in radical changes in individuals' lives. The middle and the upper-class were top beneficiaries of the industrial revolution. The two classes were made up of successful and wealthy individuals. Businesspersons such as factory and shop owners and professionals such as doctors and lawyers constituted the middle class. However, there existed the working set in the society: it was the poorest that could not make sufficient money from farming and had to work in the factories.
