The onset of the twenty-first century had witnessed a constant decline in the use of nuclear power across the world. However, continued debates on increased effects of carbon-based fuels, greenhouse effect, and global warming rekindled considerations related to the use of this source of power. Most deliberations concerning nuclear energy emphasize its advantages without reviewing its drawbacks; thus, making the debate on this subject inclined on its positive effects. Although nuclear energy is seen as green, renewable, sustainable, and extremely productive, its raw materials remain scarce with the dangers of its radioactive materials being extremely risky.
Many benefits can be gained from the use of nuclear power. The first of these is the fact that it does not produce extensive carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases as byproducts of its generation procedures. Therefore, it does not significantly contribute to global warming. Additionally, the technology used for generating nuclear energy has already been designed. This means that it can only be put to use without the need to redesign. The most outstanding advantage of this source of power is its richness and ability to generate high amounts of energy compared to other sources. Other claims indicate that nuclear energy is both sustainable and renewable.
