A leader is an individual with the ability to successfully unite people to work toward a shared goal ethically. Leadership refers to the social influence process where an individual can rally a group to work towards common goals (Chemers, 2014). According to Chemers's (2014) model of integrative leadership, a leader encourages a common vision by emphasizing the importance of teamwork in reaching corporate, departmental, and personal milestones. It is also a relationship in which one person who is the leader exerts significant influence on the followers, usually intending to inspire them to take specified action or undergo transformation (Bass & Riggio, 2006). A leader is invested in the success of their team and can instil that interest in their followers. Leadership style can be determined by its areas of focus. Such include charismatic leadership. A charismatic leaders can persuade and inspire others around them through effective communication skills and charming personalities (Tucker, 2017). Given their natural charisma and ability to inspire followers, charismatic leaders are invaluable to companies, especially those facing crisis or stagnation (Conger & Kanungo, 1998). Both the organization and the people they lead may benefit greatly from the leadership of a charismatic individual.
However, this style of leadership has the risk of producing undesirable results if implemented by an ineffective leader as they may become self-serving instead of focusing on the organization's goals. Further, an ineffective leader will use charisma in a way that may undermine an organization's power and efficacy. If charisma gets out of hand, the leader loses their ability to inspire the team and lead the organization (Fragouli, 2018). Leaders with charisma can motivate their teams by ensuring that each member follows a shared vision. Such leaders have a keen awareness of context and the requirements of their followers, which in turn
