Teaching programming to first years can be a complicated task due to several factors such as, psychological and pedagogical. There are several web-based interactive tools that allow beginners to conduct evaluation after code generation is complete. For instance, Doctor Code software enables "health-checking" of the generated codes (Esendal, & Dean, 2009). Students receive feedback on demand concerning the code quality until they are satisfied. The application also provides ideas on how to improve their projects. This tool helps first year university students to learn how to program effectively. The application is user friendly and requests for user identification and files to be evaluated (Esendal, & Dean, 2009).
