Apple Inc. hereby authorizes the Apple iDirectory project which is expected to integrate store directories and building layouts into Apple Maps. Brian Quinn, Jeniffer Kirby, David Esslam, and Janette Saville will act as the heads of the executive sponsors for this project. The Project Manager (PM) will be Marcus Clooney. He is authorized to plan, execute, supervise, and control every aspect of the project encompassing design, maintenance, implementation, closeout, and verification of the Apple iDirectory Model.
He is responsible for briefing the Apple Oversight Committee on the Project Management and is also obliged to update the Apple Oversight Committee Vice President every week as well as managing direct communication and project milestone status through face-to-face meetings. Financial, human and material resources may be procured in agreement with the Project Management and within the constraints of schedule, scope and cost.
Preliminary Scope Statement
The deliverable for this project is an operational, accurately developed model of the Apple iDirectory that will bear the capability of incorporating store directories and layouts of buildings into Apple Maps. The project will generate a new app that will highlight interior building layouts and directories for retail places such as grocery and department stores, school building, stadium seating layouts, classroom directories, library and civic building layouts. The app will assist users to locate buildings and get easier access and directions to facilities. Project Management Plan
Contained in this notebook is the Project Management Plan that adapts to the Project Management Body of Knowledge 4th edition (PMBOK) as stipulated in the published and copyrighted by Project Management Institute. The plan of the project encompasses the nine Knowledge Areas of Project Management Plan which will be reviewed in the course of the Planning Phase by the answerable Core Team member with all other stakeholders and members.
The primary planning stage began on 1st June 2014 as soon as the charter was accepted, and is expected to conclude after submission and approval of this project notebook. The project’s launch and execution will commence once the notebook has been approved and the stipulated first activity will start on December 12, 2014. The kick-off meeting shall include all stakeholder and team members from Apple and all sponsors. They will review the chief deliverables as well as project milestones and soon after this, the preliminary design stage will commence.
Project Execution
Marcus Clooney is the Project Manager in charge of Project Execution in line with Project Management Plan. Marcus Clooney will manage and direct the project execution and at the same time coordinate the hiring and developing required staff. Additionally, he will ensure the project runs steadily, on schedule, scope and budget. It will be his duty to review all change requests as well as be an active member of the Change Control Board.

As every milestone is reached, the Project Manager is expected to undertake a Cost performance Index and a Schedule Performance Index using Earned Value techniques to keep track of the projects progress alongside the baseline. The Project Manager will confirm the Network Diagram for float as well as the Human Resource Management strategy for means that could be reallocated to Critical Path activities. The critical path will be tracked so as to stay on schedule and when need arises, the Project Manager will resolve if fast tracking the project is necessary to meet the necessary deadline.
Manufacturers and technicians will be contracted to materialise the Apple iDirectory model therefore budget variance is vital. Budget overage will be inspected promptly to ascertain and reveal the source of the discrepancy. The project’s CFO will persistently review the budget during the entire project.
