Supply chain involves all the processes that are involved from the manufacturer getting the raw product, handling it and finally the finished product reaching the consumer. The effectiveness of a supply chain can be determined using various parameters that have been established and tested over time. The parameters include cost of the supply chain, ability to handle variability and sustainability of the supply chain processes. Supply chain management involves taking into consideration all the factors throughout all the phases of the supply chain to ensure that the whole process is efficient, and the customer is satisfied. The consumer and the supplier must be integrated in the entire process for the objectives of chain management to be met.
