Microsoft Corporation is one of the public company in the united states with its headquarters in Redmond, in Washington united states. It develops, licenses, manufactures and even support a range of products and services that predominantly relates to computing .it initially operated in operating system but later engaged in software development and to information technology business. Over the years, Microsoft has dominated in the world market surpassing many challenges ranging from competition in the market and threats from the hackers. (Cusumano, Michael A, 32)
The company over the years has purchased numerous firms and merged with other companies making it to dominate and act as a monopoly in the market. Some of the companies that Microsoft has purchased include Lionhead Studios, ProClarity, Onfolio and colloquis. Some of the company that Microsoft has merged include AQuantive, Nokia, Mojang , Fast Searhch and transfer among others.
Mergers and acquisition of Microsoft has benefited the company making it popular and world leader in profit making. It has resulted to better management and technical skills acquired from merging. It has also led Microsoft to enjoy the economies of scale worldwide hence making it to improve on quality, reduce cost, and increase output. Merging has also helped Microsoft to overcome risks associated with competition in the market, especially those dealing with software and computing. All this are the strategies that Microsoft put in place in order to remain thye world leading company in computing..Â

Despite facing numerous competition from other competitive products and competition in terms of challenges faced by regulation of its product by governments, it has managed to overcome all and continue to blossom in the market. This types of challenges that Microsoft seems to encounter makes it to be more agile and focus on how to overcome them.

Recommendation for improvement for Microsoft
Microsoft need to demand technical excellence if it is to remain relevance in the near future. They need to develop technical software for the internet that is widely used by majority and also apply the software they develop on the growing use of smartphones that majority luck Microsoft software. They have to continually move with agility counter the daily competition that erupts due to competition.
They should also be involved in change of organizational stracture and promote individual transition. They should respond rapidly to the needs that requires agile adoption. They should follow due plan while adopting to change, especially organizational change. The organization should be quick to respond to individual needs especially the consumer. Customers are prone of changing their mind often especially with good reasons therefore the company should be at forefront in adopting an adjusting to consumers need.
Organizing knowledge and improving on education is another r recommendation that I believe Microsoft should adopt. The company needs to create an enabling environment that enables their employees to get the best knowledge on their products and also on education improvement. They need to be trained on how they need to develop software that are user friendly for consumers and also on how to meet consumer demand.
