The economic atmosphere of the United States is a concern, not only to the American people but also to the entire world. America, being the world’s Super Power, controlling one of the biggest portions of the world’s economy with the largest nominal GDP, has gone through ups and downs over the past four decades. Currently, the United States has the most influential financial market in the whole world. By the measure of Market Capitalization, Wall Street is ranked as the world’s largest stock exchange market (“United States”). America has a record of more than $ 2.4 trillion foreign investment while, at the same time, investing over $ 3.3 trillion in foreign countries (“United States”). To reach this level, regardless of current economic problems such as income inequality. America has undergone some of the most economical recessions and peaks over the last few decades. The country has experienced some of the most adverse economic slumps but still remains strong and rating high in the world’s hierarchy. Even with these dynamics in the American Economy, the average GDP trend has maintained an annual 2.0% increase per annum (“United States”). Some of the major factors that have been contributed to the vicissitudes of the American economy include, but are not limited to, effects of the World War II, political stability and governance, employment, and economic inequality.
