7 dangers of sugar to your health, your ability to live a long life and sports agility
There’s a saying that goes something like, what doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger and that’s true in most cases. However, overcoming different substances is a very hard thing to do, the hardest one of all is sugar. Sugar, as we know it, can indeed be addictive to the point of causing some real damage to the body. Most people usually see sugar as a way to get through the day, it’s a necessary evil to keep them going. But, make no mistake, sugar has 7 dangerous long term effects that can cause health issues, affect a person’s sport performance and substantially decrease any chance of them living a very long life. The 7 dangers are these:
One of the dangers of sugar is if a person consumes too much of it then they are likely to have a deadly encounter with diabetes which can lead to other things such as body amputation, blindness in both eyes, bodily organ shutdown; frequent bathroom trips and continuous fainting spells that last a long period of time.
#2 Sugar can put a person’s health in danger by raising the body’s cholesterol, what makes this so dangerous is that high cholesterol can lead to stroke and heart attack. It can often make it hard for a person to enjoy the food they love because they have to watch their cholesterol intake which can severely damage the body.
The third danger that sugar puts the body in is that it causes the body to age rapidly, destroy any chance of a person living beyond their 50s and 60s. The body ingests all of the sugar that a person consumes then the body absorbs it and it causes the person’s body to age which causes sagging of the skin and wrinkles. Sugar can make a person who is only 33 years old look like their 53, absorbing too much sugar can open the door to heart disease; one of the most deadliest diseases on earth.
It can be argued that the dangers of sugar on the health, athletic performance and life aspect can be countered with moderating the amount of sugar that the person takes in or consumes. However, people don’t realize that when their body absorb too much sugar, they are causing their bodies to work extra hard to get that sugar out of their bodies before it causes any long term damage; it is already too late for those whose body had already succumbed to the dangerous side effect of absorbing too much sugar or not controlling the intake.
#4, sugar can wreak havoc in the body by affecting an athlete’s performance in their chosen sport, ingesting too much sugar will cause the athlete to gain a tremendous amount of weight not to mention that it wreaks havoc on their ability to focus on the game. Another unfortunate side effect of athlete ingesting sugar is that they are less likely to concentrate on feeding their body the healthy food that it needs instead of the added sugar that it doesn’t need.
Fifth, as previously stated, sugar can cause very lethal damage to a person’s body. In which case, it can cause a person’s kidneys to shut down. The danger that this puts the body in is that a person is likely to spend 4-6 days a week going to a dialysis center to get treatments while waiting on kidney replacement surgery, the worst part about the surgery is that a person is likely to be waiting weeks, months even years before they can get a kidney to replace the one they damaged. A person suffering with kidney damage takes frequent trips to the hospital when they have vomiting spells or find that they can’t hold food down.
Sugar can also cause temporary sense of memory loss, it can cause a person to forget things like how to ge...
