Personal Reflection
What I Did
I started the project by choosing an appropriate topic that seemed suitable for me. I identified technology and engaged the youth as my audience since I found that engaging my peers would be convenient and I also understood that most of the technology users lay in my age bracket. I planned my time by putting a deadline and identified the materials that I needed to complete the project within the time provided. I started the work immediately by getting an overview of what my topic entailed using my phone. As a writer, I found it easy to make brief notes during my initial research and observations. I was able to create a draft from my notes and using detailed online study from books, journals, and articles that dealt with the topic. Guided by the sketch, I was able to make a final paper, which I reviewed and made appropriate changes where necessary. I finished my project on time and submitted it through Turnitin.
What I Enjoyed
As a writer who enjoys learning new things, I found the project enlightening as it offered an opportunity for me to acquire further information. I enjoyed writing down what I learned from the online research and wanted to support the literature using observation. I enjoyed making observations that demonstrated how technology had affected my peers and me, such that we could not find it usual to stay a whole day without using gadgets such as iPhones and iPads. Altogether, I enjoyed writing this project because I am passionate about writing and technology facilitates my work by making it easy.
What I Found Difficult
One of the most challenging parts of the project was organizing the research that I had acquired and turning it into useful information. I had gathered research into brief notes, and it was overwhelming to analyze it. I had to make another draft that would help me piece together the information needed for my final paper. Therefore, acquiring information from my brief notes and making it flow logically proved to be quite a challenging task for me. I also found a lot of information through my research and keeping the project short became a challenge. I was not able to include everything that I had about the topic.
