The excessive usage of the drugs leads to health complications and death. American federal laws classify drugs into legal and illegal drugs. Legal drugs in the United States include nicotine and alcohol. The drugs have addiction issues, but the constitution of the United States permits the usage of the drug. Illegal drugs in the country include cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens, Rohypnol and steroids. The location of North Carolina State is in the southeastern part of the United States. Authorities of the southeastern state launched drug related programs and laws to create drug awareness across the state.The authorities made the decision to conduct civic education on drugs to the residents of the state. The civic education created drug awareness to the American citizens. Civic education enables the authorities educate Americans about the dangers of drug addiction.
