Face Validity
Validity is a crucial factor for any research that is being undertaken, and it determines the extent of acceptability of the realized results, to the people who may be concerned. While every study begins with insufficient and unexciting information, the disguised idea forms the basis of further research which built onto it, to form what is validly acceptable, otherwise known as construct validity.
Face validity of a given subject regards the measures that are acceptable only to the researcher; since they have not been built on, and are mostly based on an assumption and common sense, which is too weak make to make a base for making professional medical decisions. However, the conviction of a researcher, on the face validity leads to a theoretical basis that forms good grounds for further research. Making treatment decisions begins with a health practitioner developing a face validity of a given infection or condition trough intuition and experience.
Observation of a patient’s appearance entails physiotherapy which can make up the preliminary face validity aspects which can then be drawn up into construct validity using the diagnosis of the assumed condition. This process is regarded as establishing external validity from internal validity. In this case, internal validity entails viable concepts that have no bias, yet would not be criticized and disputed by many clinicians, just as face validity implies.
While making undisputable deductions is a rigorous process that demands extensive research, the information is developed from expendable information. This makes the concept of face validity important as it provides information as the preliminary stages of research (Lynn 385; Rothwell 81).
