A Continuity of Parks in the Short Story 

A continuity of parks in the short story under analysis. The story was initially written by an Argentine writer, but in the Spanish language whereby, it was first published in 1964 in the Journalistic Sudamericana. Accordingly, it is evident that he sortied out his commercial matters and went back to his novel to read from where he left. He is sitting in an armchair, green in color, with his back facing the door. The businessman feels comfortable giving maximum concentration to the story in the novel while at the same time enjoying his cigarettes while on the armchair, as he views the park outside, through his window. In the story, the woman kisses her lover on his face, where a branch of a tree had scratched him, and as a result, it bled. Truly, the man and the woman love one another accordingly and in equal measures. However, they are more attentive to their planned murder than anything else. They will part, and each goes their way, and in opposite directions. The woman goes northwards while the man, following the instructions the woman had given him, enters the house where he could see his victim. Little does the man in the room, sitting in a green armchair, reading the book, know that he is the victim. Therefore, more analysis of the book is as follows in the next paragraphs.
There are various themes as seen in the story. The theme of escaping, love, insatiability, disloyalty, and accountability, for example. The narration is done in the third person by a narrator, who is not named. The person reading the story may have to explore the theme of escape in the first place. For instance, the person owning the estate seems to be very keen and needs to finalize in reading the novel (Cortázar et al. 137). As a result, an individual could be convinced that the reader finds the story he is reading more interesting than his own life. Generally, this becomes clearer to the person reading it when the estate owner intends to share the ownership of his estate with the manager of the same. It is as if the estate owner is no longer interested in his responsibility to run his estate any longer. Nevertheless, he is more interested in changing the direction of his life. In addition, the write of the story has his ways of blurring his lines between fact and fiction. By so doing, anybody reading the story can have a clear view of how both fact and fiction can be at times (Cortázar et al. 139). Shockingly, the reader of the story finds out that the estate owner in the story is the victim. Maybe, he lives his own life with no idea that he is depicted in the story through the novel's lens. Hence, if anything, the owner of the estate who is now reading the novel may be living his life vicariously and, at the same time, have less understanding of the real fact.
