Introduction
On the morning of 6th, August 1945, the American long-range bomber aircraft from the base of Pacific island of Tinian approached the Japanese city of Hiroshima with a bombing intent. There are arguments from the critics of the act that bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima was not a necessity after the destruction of its fleet at Leyte Gulf in October 1944. It is true that America was capable of bombing Japanese cities including the devastating fire-bombings of Osaka and Tokyo. The bombing was not necessary as Japan was hopeless by then because of losing its airspace before the attack. They were also poor in resources and had lost their ability for importation of the important commodities such as oil, food, and other important industrial supplies required in support of the World War. The Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was deemed a barbaric method of terminating the World War II. The Americans used the atomic bomb against Japan as a tactic of ending the World War. The issue started on April e, 1945, a week after the assumption of office by Harry Truman (1945-53) after the death of President Franklin Roosevelt (1939-45). The purpose of the essay is to elucidate about the Bombings of Hiroshima Nagasaki by the American administration under the leadership of President Truman of (1945-53).
