What is a Cinderella Fork-tale?
A fork-tale is a type of story which is old and has been told from generation to generation over and over (Kim). A fork-tale is purely oral and is narrated by word of mouth for example if one would wish to know more about the community they come from, it would be wise to listen to fork-tales from their old parents or grandparents and this would largely boost their knowledge of their community. Fork tales are also said to be stories about humans and animals and most of the time these fairy tales do not specify the time and location of events taking place in them but always begin predictably. A fork-tale begins with "Once upon a time" and has a typical ending of "and they lived happily ever after."
In Cinderella is suffers neglect even though she is seen as not deserving such kind of suffering she endures. She often gets mistreated by her stepmother and step sister but continues to endure this suffering without arguing or even disrespecting any of them (Yolen).
