In this essay I will discuss the factors which are related to academic success in high school students. First and foremost, the academic success of a high school student depends upon the student himself/herself. From my standpoint, students ought to be naturally good in academics: book smart. Apart from being a book smart, the high school student should also be hardworking, teachable, honest, and self-disciplined. Being smart alone doesn't guarantee academic success. The health of a student is also very vital to his/her academic success. A student should be in good health if he/she is to succeed academically. Secondly, the other factor is the learning environment. In this case the learning environment constitutes: the school and the teachers. High schools should have good facilities, and should also be situated in quiet neighborhoods for maximum success of students. Pertaining to teachers, the teachers in a high school should be skilled so as to effectively pass on knowledge to the students. Last but not least, parents play a vital role in the academic success of their children. Responsible parents are supposed to provide the basic needs for their children.
