Possible ways to improve productivity as a student
One of the most effective advice student may take from their professors to improve their productivity is to attend all classes or lectures scheduled for each semester. Majority of the students argue that missing a lecture is not a problem as they would ask the friend’s books to copy the notes given in the classroom. However this may work, it is not advisable for students to choose having notes from their peers instead of listening to first-hand information from their tutors. Some of the things taught in class may not handwritten notes, and in this case, it’s important for a student to be part of the group present in the classroom. In a physics lab practical, for example, the professor may only require the students to watch him or her as he or she demonstrates a certain experiment to the class. Any student who would miss such as laboratory class would miss a lot of information concerning the experiment and would be replicated by failure if the same experiment is repeated in the final exam. Indeed, missing a class has adverse effects on the student’s performance in tests and the final examination. Therefore students should adopt the habit of waking up early and going to school not to miss their classes. While in class, they should fully concentrate with listening to the tutor.
Having regular meets ups with the professors is another strategy a student may use to improve his productivity in school. Students should consider their professors as their ‘friends’ and not ‘enemies’ even if they impose punishment on them. Professors advice and guide their students on various reading tactics and how to avoid breaking the rules and regulations of the school. Also, lecturers challenge the students for example by telling them stories of people who reformed and worked hard while in college to become successful and perhaps prominent people in the entire nation. This motivates the all students including those not performing well in their academics, that there is still room for improvement. Therefore, it is important as student, to build strong and positive relationships with the professors because they may have a lot to offer in terms of advice and motivation.
Being in college, students may assume an opportunistic nature and learn everything they can, as long as they learn something new that they did not know. For instance, a good and goal-oriented student may choose to attend some classes that may be irrelevant to his or her course, what’s important is learning something out of it. Outside the classroom, students may learn a lot more from professors, their parents and speakers invited to a give a public speech to the students. In case a student has a part-time job, he or she may emulate moral behaviors taught by senior work mates at the work place. Besides, hanging out and having fun with classmates and other friends in helps boost your productivity as a student. However, while having fun with friends, a good student should refrain from all types of immoral behaviors like alcohol and substance abuse.
