What did you find most interesting or important about Timmerman’s own story and experience?
In Where Am I Wearing Part 4-My Flip Flops Made In China, I consider exciting the part that Timmerman, while exploring the Chinese food market, wants to buy food with only $3 but finds it difficult. This happens in mid-chapter 23, where it is funny and interesting to realize that Timmerman forgetting that Chinese culture is different from American seems quite astonished at how societies differ. Disgusted, he asks, “If we consider the world’s population as our society, what role do I play in it?” (Timmerman, 179).
