The Role of Art
Both Tracy Daugherty’s and Sandra Cisneros’ stories examine the roles of the artists as key players in their plots. Art plays a major role in self-examination where an individual seeks to evaluate him or herself basing on the impact the stories have towards him or her. According to Tracy’s Axeman’s Jazz, self-examination is based on an individual’s self-evaluation on matters pertaining class, race, culture, and even the political aspects of a given dimension. Art is very basic as it can help to shape the general examination of a person.
Art also plays a vital role in self-expression, according to both authors. With a clear basis of an examination that is done by an individual, one can be able to express themselves righteously. Both authors in their numerous stories empower the basis of self-expression through art that is perceived on a daily basis.
