Surname 1 Student's Name: Class: Professor: Date: American Revolution The American Revolution originated from various acts of maltreatment by the Great Britain colonialists hence the act was justifiable and was not in any way an act of disloyalty to the kings. The revolution was highly propelled by the shooting of American protesters in the Boston Massacre. After a series of unrest in the region, the killers were arrested and arraigned in court to answer to charges of murder but were all released on the following day. Their release highly encouraged the revolution since the locals could not access justice against the colonialists hence they opted to fight for their rights. Apart from the massacre, there were also numerous reasons that were substantial for the revolution. These reasons included the king's refusal to assent certain laws that were proposed by the colonists for the interest of the public. Besides, the king warned his government representatives from passing laws of pressing importance, and this act was taken as a battle line between the colonialists and the colonists. The king also dissolved the representatives' houses frequently in attempts to eject the colonist house representatives who were perceived to be against the royal policies. The dissolving of the house obstructed the administration of justice for the locals and created avenues for oppression by the colonialists. Also, the performing judges acted on the will of the king; hence, it was difficult for the Americans to acquire justice as it was based on their originality thus the colonialists were favored against the Americans. They had a ready market for their farm produce such as tobacco and cotton wool which were mainly bought by the Britain merchants. They also bought essential goods from the British merchants at relatively lower prices. For instance, the British merchants sold clothes, tea, hats, and farm tools to the Americans at affordable prices. However, British later breached their agreements with the thirteen colonies by imposing taxes on them. These taxes were supposed to fund the British government ad assist in paying off their debts.
