FEDERALISTS
Federalist refers to the beliefs of a political party while federalists refer to the members or supporters of a particular party. On the hand, a federal government consists of three branches which are distinct. These branches are namely executive, judicial and the legislative arms of the government. The name ‘federalists’ was implied to mean commitment to a decentralized government system. According to James Madison, the federal government and the state governments had to find a way to work together while at the same time keeping the happiness of the people in mind.
The discussion around federation, which is a political body that is composed of state governments that partially govern themselves under an umbrella government which is the central government, began when American Revolution members formed a thirteen state union which were constantly in rivalry between themselves. The members of the American Revolution then had to find a way to solve the conflicts between these states and that’s when they resolved that if they can have each state governing itself then this could lead to minimal conflicts between them.
