Napoleon and the Revolutionary Legacy
The main reason why napoleon continued with his support for the French revolution was to eliminate other European countries that were opposing the revolutions because they felt threatened by the emergence of the revolution. His move to push for the introduction of more civic reforms such as the Civil Code in 1804 which advocated for equal rights in France. However much Napoleon facilitated the French revolution, he also made a very costly decision of being the French emperor. (Martyn) The position enabled Napoleon to gain so much power which contributed to the rise of the Napoleon wars across Europe. France gained more power under Napoleon and went ahead and attacked Russia after terrorizing other countries. The Russian government overpowered them in 1812 and that was the end of the French revolution.
