Technology Is More Harmful Than It Is Good
The world has gradually evolved from the ancient days when traditional methods were used in place of the technology in form of scientific knowledge that we apply today. Nevertheless, the embracing of technology is more harmful than it is good.
Technology and its products should ideally be used only as forums for applying knowledge and for transmission but its use could be more harmful than good to its users. Such technological processes range from fingerprint technology, geo-mapping to virtual assistants (Hunt et al. 383). Their use should be clearly defined and well understood. The evolution in technology targets to empower users and not third parties. Technology has proven to be harmful by the ‘technicians’ hidden agenda of mining users’ data by collecting information for their selfish purpose of converting it into money through advertisements, among other uses (Hunt et al. 383). Advertisers on online platforms buy this information to help them precisely advertise the right product to the rightfully intended user.
Many national governments have also not been left behind in the data mining
