1. The podcast of the criminal is an interview of Benjamin Ferencz, a prosecutor who accused high-ranking officials of the Nazis. The podcast discusses various themes surrounding justice in the time of war. Benjamin defines war crimes as actions against the international treaties intended to make war humane. The historical perspectives presented by the podcast are essential in understanding the development of international law. Benjamin is elaborate and he discusses the process of prosecuting war criminals as well as tells how he attained the evidence. The podcast highlights the process of obtaining evidence. Many war victims never get justice due to a lack of information linking the perpetrators to the crime. As a young prosecutor, Benjamin set standards by visiting concentration camps of the Nazi's death squad to gather information. The podcast has a theme of discussing the injustices associated with wars. Benjamin mentions that it is absurd that criminal law aims to make wars humane. In his description, the wars' nature doesn't allow for the humane treatment of the victims. However, the international partners have occasionally set limits to countries on measures to take in the event of war. For instance, one cannot use poisonous gases against the enemy.
