Terrorism
Terrorism is a threat that the US and its allies are in constant fear of. In the last two decades, the number of lives that have been lost through terrorism has gone beyond 30,000 souls while hundreds of thousands have been injured because of it. These figures give a depiction of how much of a threat this criminal act is to the world. Even though the acts of terrorism have been part and parcel of the human life for quite some time, the 9/11 attack marked a major turning point in the war on terror or fight against terrorism. The 9/11 attack in the US soil had the highest number of fatalities in a multiple, well-executed attack, which stunned the entire world. When the war against terrorism began, it became important to establish the reasons as to why it happened.
