Conventional and sustainable Energy
Introduction
Renewable energy refers to those natural sources of energy that get replenished through natural ecological cycles. Sustainable energy on the other hand refers to those sources of energy that have the ability to serve many generations without being depleted. One of the greatest advantages of these two aspects of energy sources is that they usually do not change their form over time. Conventional sources of energy are usually non-renewable and have been used for many years. It is therefore difficult for conventional energy sources to become sustainable because they get depleted over a period of time. Over the recent years, it has become difficult to discover and exploit conventional energy sources prompting scientists to explore other forms of energy. Some of the conventional energy sources include Coal, Oil and natural gas and electricity (Popov et al, p.g 56).
Conventional and sustainable Energy
With the increasing world population, energy consumption has gone up putting a strain on the conventional energy sources which are not sustainable. This effect has prompted major research to be done to find sustainable energy sources capable of supporting the growing world population. Some of the modern sources of renewable sources of energy include solar, wind power, biomass, geothermal energy, wave power, and hydropower. Some fundamental differences between the conventional and non-conventional can be based on pollution, conservation, and natural existence. Recently, sustainable energy sources have been recommended due to their nature of non-depletion and existence in abundance (Popov et al 82).
Green architecture also called green design can be defined as a building approach that aims to minimize harmful effects on the environment and the human health in general. Here, the green architect protects the earth; air and water by ensuring building materials are eco-friendly. Green architecture is a unique way of building using natural light optimizing it though the integration of superior structures. These designs incorporate ventilation systems that regulate heating and cooling efficiently. The design is also well known to support energy efficient electrical appliances and lighting thereby saving energy (Attmann & Osman, p.g 35). Green architecture involves planning appropriate landscapes that maximize solar energy. This will enable a structure get clean and sustainable energy that can keep the household with power for a relatively long time. The green architecture concept is highly recommended because of the minimal harm it causes to the environment. It also allows the use of alternate sources of power such as wind power and solar power. Building materials should be non-synthetic and non-toxins, this will allow the house to coexist with the environment peacefully. The wood and stones should be locally sourced and naturally harvested (Attmann & Osman, p.g 97.
This environmentally friendly form of construction typically has its own life cycle. This is depicted by the way everything i...
