Death penalty also known as capital punishment is a legal procedure, whereby an individual is legally executed by a state or government, as a punishment for the crime he/she has committed. This kind of punishment has been adapted by several states, and is generally used for punishing atrocious crimes, such as murder in addition to, crimes such as crimes against humanity, treason, violent crimes, and espionage. People have mixed reactions on capital punishment, but as for me, I am in favor of the death penalty because, I strongly believe that if all states approve it, many innocent lives will be saved and also it is justice to the victims. If murderers and criminal for heinous crimes are left to get away with it, they will still repeat the same crimes and this means, many lives will be lost. In addition, if the death penalty is legalized, it will help in retribution, deterrence, and morality in the nation.
I believe that, death penalty is the acceptable punishment, for the people who take away other people’s lives. Life is sacred, and nobody has a right to take away another person’s life. Why should an individual deny another person the opportunity to be alive? Every person has this right and death penalty is imperative when protecting people’s right to live. Nobody should deny the other person the right to live, and if the death penalty is passed to those who commit the murder crime, it will be the best way to protect this right to life.
In addition, death penalty helps to maintain law and order and to deter criminals, since they will refrain from committing any crime that might lead them to lose their lives.
