Urban agriculture is viewed in different perceptive by different people. The practice, which contemporarily entails converting idle land in urban areas into useful agricultural land, is believed to have both positive outcomes and negative ones, to the people living around such firms. As much as some people would consider the practice beneficial in reviving and stimulating local economies, others believe the exercise is a trigger to gentrification, which could be unfavorable to communities living around such farms.
An urban firm can help a local economy in various ways. It facilitates local production of fresh foods that tend to supply local food stores with the produce thus ensuring money remains and circulate within the communities.
