Gender studies deal with identification of one’s identity in various ways. These include biological, social and cultural factors. Through these studies, an individual is able to know how his or her gender influences the roles they play in society. The studies also relate the perspective of different societies towards gender. Gender studies go hand in hand with women studies. These studies focus mainly on the role of women in the social, political and economic sector. The studies also focus on identification of the feminism of women and their significance in the society.
The status of women is viewed differently in different societies. In most societies, women have been placed under men with men dominating in all situations.
