The status of women is viewed differently in different societies. In most societies, women have been placed under men with men dominating in all situations. This is common in the economic, political as well as the social sector. Through women’s studies, women are able to relate positively with their feminine side. These include their health and their roles in society as women. Through the studies, women are also able to identify themselves with various issues concerning their society and how these issues can be handled. It is also through these studies that women are educated on their role in society and what influence they have towards the immediate society. This is mainly evident in the study of women’s fiction where literature by women and for women is studied and upheld.
The position of women in politics has not been clearly defined over the years. In most countries, women are not considered in politics and if they do, it becomes a big deal for the onlookers.
