In the United States, it is often overlooked how customers and higher-ups treat employees. According to a chart published by Statista in 2014, 70% of a workplace's biggest threat to health is Stress, with Bullying/harassment coming in a close second. Employee mistreatment is a large, overlooked issue in society today. The more an employee is mistreated by customers or staff, the more that same employee will feel less of them want to come into work and put as much effort into their job. Often managers who witness employee harassment will turn their heads or not interfere at all, causing a loss of trust in the workplace. There are many leading reasons for employees leaving their minimum wage job, but from my own experiences and from the statistics of other workers, there is no doubt that one of the largest leading reasons is Employee Harassment.
