Effects of overpopulation The current inventions in technology with good medication has resulted to rapid population growth, this is due to constant food supply, good medications in our health sectors and good government subsidies on education. However these factors has resulted to overpopulation hence its negative effects on the environment after depletion of resources. Overpopulation would lead to food scarcity in the environment because as the population increases the food supply should also be increasing and this is not the case with the current overpopulation (Sorvall 45), a well-nourished human population require three meal a day with balance diet but rise in population has resulted to depletion of food resources as there is pressure on the planets as agricultural farms are turn into settlement hence reducing food supply as human population increasing. In some countries this issue has been addressed through introduction of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in order to increase food supply. Unemployment in the society, current human growth need job creation in order to be employed (Brown 39). The trend in human population has not allowed this to happen due to large number of graduate release in job market each and every year which cannot meet job created. This has resulted to unemployment especially among the youths hence low quality of life.
