Karl Marx is one of the prominent leaders of the twentieth century. His political philosophy of Marxism is among the dominant political schools of thought that shaped a better part of the last century (Carver, par 2). Karl Marx postulated a political school of thought that integrated philosophical and political doctrine to give rise to new political ideology that argued for a unification of theory and practice. According to Karl Marx, Capitalism postulated the concept that the markets be left in charge of meeting the needs of the people. Karl Marx on the other hand, came about with a socialist perspective, which highlighted the importance and need to integrate a humanistic approach in making political decisions (Sorgner, par.4 ).
The communist or socialist approach to politics confers a greater significance on the dynamics of class struggles. Central to Marx’s ideology was grounding the ideas and theories of power and authority within the confines of human interactions, thereby reinventing the perception and analysis of political thought and ideology (Holub, par.2). Beyond his contributions to the world of politics, Karl Marx also made a crucial contribution to the world of sociology, by focusing on the class struggle and its implications on the society (Carver, par.8 ). While social stratification is deeply understood by sociologists, its significance and role in defining various social systems can be traced back to Karl Marx.
