Cyber Security is a specialized course in the field of Information Technology. By taking this course, I will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to protect the operating systems of a computer, networks, and data from external threats. Threats to sensitive data occur in various forms, including phishing and malware. This course will provide me with a baseline understanding of significant security threats and vulnerabilities and apply my knowledge in information security to prevent data breaches. As such, one of the most important things I will take from this course is information security management concepts. The concepts begin with the identification of the possible security threat, scrutiny of the computer systems to determine whether they are vulnerable to the threat, development of possible measures to address the vulnerabilities, and implementation of the appropriate steps.
