Newton's law of motion and friction
LAWS OF MOTION
Newton developed three laws which are meant to explain how bodies as well as how they relate with the surfaces they are in contact with. Isaac Newton came up with the laws through the consideration of the individual bodies as masses, on a mathematical point with the bodies not having any point of rotation as well as mass. In the choice of this direction, Newton wanted to exclude any cases of friction, resistance by air, the features as well as properties of the materials and the effects of the temperature (Giancoli). The exposition of the laws is based on the Newtonian reference frame and this frame describes the movement of the body on an inertial frame.
The first law of motion
The first newton law of motion stipulates that a body always remains at its initial state of either rest or motion unless there is an action by an external influence (Giancoli). The law stipulates that there cannot be a change in the position of the body from either rest, in motion or come to a stop and there is a need for an external force to cause the change (Persson & Erio).
