Is money spent on space exploration a waste?
Space exploration is the endless investigation by means of manned and unmanned spacecraft of celestial structures beyond Earth’s atmosphere and developing the growth of space technology. Most of the scientist and scholars have different ideas when it comes to the question above. Critics for some reasons say that money spent on space exploration is a waste. However, for more than fifty years, humans have explored space and this has yield endless flow of benefits to the societies. By its very nature, space exploration is not a waste of money considering the expansion of human knowledge and the experienced valuable innovations that are generated tremendously to the society. Space exploration has existed as a driver of basic science and technology innovations in which challenges called for new approached.
Space exploration has generated hi-tech knowledge from high performance of space systems. The scientific skills acquired expand human understanding of nature and often opens creative and useful earth-based applications for the society. These new capabilities developed by individuals or organization are purely used to address global challenges. Space exploration attracts international interest and it affects people across the globe by producing knowledge, capabilities, and relationship [that help the society achieve most of the global challenges. This mutual understanding g and trust promotes peace and diplomacy among nations.
Space exploration has led to advanced innovation and development telemedicine that maintains the health of astronauts as they explore beyond the earth as they carry their research around the earth’s orbit. Consequently, the public also uses these telemedicine to send diagnostic images to doctors in hospitals to allow patients remain at home while doctors monitors their vital parameters of heart rate, hypertension which is convenience.
Space exploration also promotes culture and inspiration. This inspiration of humankind helps man to understand how life began on earth and increase their interest to explore Mars, another planet that scientist hope to support human life.
