Applying for a Certain Position (Essay Sample)

Dear Mr. /Ms. Manager:
I want to apply for the position of outside sales representative for your company, and looking at the qualifications listed, I believe I am the right candidate. I am an ongoing student at Michigan State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business entrepreneurship. I believe I can add some expertise to your team with my experience doing sales. I am graduating in 2023 with a major in business entrepreneurship, and I believe that my addiction to the team would increase the company's performance when dealing with sales.
As a sales representative, I will bring my extrovert nature and sales experience from selling cars and insurance as I undergo my studies. I believe the sales profession requires assertive, driven, emotionally intelligent, and vast experience in selling merchandise before. Being a people person and convincing people to buy things is my specialty, and this will be no exception when I get accepted into the team.
Based on the job responsibilities, I can handle talking to clients both on the phone, through email, and face to face. Outside sales representation is a specialty that I can perfect since previous experience selling insurance and going door to door taught me the art of approaching customers and creating a rapport with them. I once sold insurance to school teachers in an elementary school due to my approach, honesty, and candidness towards how the insurance policy could benefit them.
