The Corporate Network’s IP Addressing Design for HSBC Bank (Lab Report Sample)
Instructions:
I did this paper IN july 2024. it is a lab report for THE cisco packet tracer program. I was required to design a physical topology for hscbc bank and design the addressing scheme for its five branches (based on the instructions). the paper is in apa format but with no sources. also, i discussed how the network can be protected. source..

The Corporate Network’s IP Addressing Design for HSBC Bank
The Approach Used to Handle the Network Design
I will handle this task methodically, beginning with the IP addressing scheme, which will be developed using VLSM (Variable Length Subnet Masking). I will proceed to configure the devices and connections and, finally, secure the network. A breakdown of the steps I will follow:
1 While developing the IP addressing scheme, I will establish the host requirements for each site. Using VLSM, I will allocate IP addresses from the 190.168.0.0/22 range. In each subnet, I will calculate the address ranges, network address, and subnet masks.
2 I will set up the device and topology by adding and interconnecting routers, PCs, and switches in Packet Tracer. I will configure the IP addresses and routing on the routers and, finally, create point-to-point connections between the main office and the branch offices.
3 I will proceed to secure the routers using secure passwords, console passwords, and enable SSH for secure remote access.
4 Finally, I will utilize various show commands to verify the configuration and connectivity.

CISCO Packet Tracer Approach to Configure the Network
1 Design the network topology by arranging routers, switches, and PCs in the main office and the branch offices. The PCs represent the number of hosts in each office. Interconnect the devices based on the design.
2 Assign IP addresses based on the developed IP addressing scheme.
3 Configure static routes on each subnet to ensure connectivity across the network.
4 Implement the security configuration by setting up console and vty line passwords. Enable remote access by configuring SSH.
5 For verification, utilize show commands to verify connectivity, routing tables, and interface status.
