Question 1

Solution

x^2 - 15x +54

The general form of this polynomial is ax^2 + bx +c .

To factor this polynomial, you need to find two factors that will give the product of ax^2 by c and the sum of the two factors will be equal to bx.

In our problem here, the product should be 54x^2 and the sum should be -15x.

You will find that the two factors are -9x and -6x because when you multiply them you get 54x^2 and when you add them you get -15x.

You then rewrite the polynomial replacing bx by the two factors you have found, so that it looks like this;
