The two-time Oscar award winning actor and philanthropist Denzel Washington was selected for an interview in the Late Show with David letterman on the 14th of January 2010. It is a late-night show that David Letterman hosts on CBS cable channel. He interviews different personalities and celebrities, ranging from actors, politicians, singers and other important figures. Denzel Washington on the other hand is known for his prowess in acting, in the sense that he is an experienced actor who is capable of expressing different emotional expressions that creates emotional reactions from his audiences and viewers. Better yet, Denzel has the ability to connect with his viewers enthusiastically that has seen him bagging numerous awards.
The Interview begins by Denzel walking into the studio spotting his signature walk that exudes confidence and a dash of haughtiness. He outstretches his arm way before he gets to embrace David Letterman. This attitude is an attribute of people who are buoyant and spirited. His dressing is simple, casual and conservative and one cannot help but notice that he knows that he looks good and his audiences admire his stance. He examines the audience more like a way of gauging how he is going to relate with them and exchange the energies in the interview studio. Davis letterman on the other hand looks suave in his suit that screams ‘down-to-business’ and a matching tie that actually gives him a serious interviewer posture.
Following the interview, it is easy to see the smooth flow of the exchange of the question answer session between Letterman and Denzel. They way Letterman asks every question is flawless and it seems like the questions are not pre-planned but rather emanate from Denzel’s response. Most importantly, Letterman does not try to steal the show from the interviewee. On the other hand, Denzel answers all the questions that are posed to him effortlessly and straight to the point. Amazingly, Denzel is hilarious in almost every response that he gives. He actually gives amusing examples, for instance, when he is asked what he does with the awards that he gets. By good-humoredly answering the questions posed to him, Denzel knows that that is one of the ways of capturing the listenership of his audience, more like keeping them entertained.
