Expansion processes kicked off in 1930 when the company opened various outlet stores across the United Kingdom (Denton, 2000). The company went public on the London Stock Exchange in 1933 and diversified its operations into cafeteria and grocery stores. More strategic business deals will be made to make sure improved sales and performance. In 1988, the company merged with Habitat and Mother Care, giving birth to Storehouse plc. (Scott, 2013). Later in 200, Philip Green bought the company for 200 million pounds and changed it from a public to a private firm. Under the leadership of Sir Green, BHS acquired the Arcadia Group of retailers consisting of Burton, Top shop, and Dorothy Perkins among others. In 2015, the company tumbled down due to high debts.
