The port also has an efficient infrastructure and the capacity to offer services to large vessels and ships. This port has the best inland connectivity that makes it close to the readily available market (Mangan et al., 2008). It has efficient logistic networks to connect to other ports around the world and the different ports within China.

The extended logistics operations will lead to storage facilities being developed and constructed in the inland facilities improving sustainable supply chain management. It will help to reduce congestion at the port and minimize the possible waste at the sea. The extending of the logistics operations of the port of Hong Kong is effective in attaining sustainability in the inland supply chain.
Extending the business services such as assembling of the raw materials and packaging of the goods. The port of Hong Kong can decide to extend or transfer their business services to the inland to increase the productivity of their goods and improve the environment. This will result in reducing waste to the environment due to demand fluctuations.
