The research produced several problems that non-profit management experienced. The process of decision-making was mentioned as a major problem that NGOs experience (Betsill &Corell, 2008). Tensions frequently occurred between senior managers and staff for the reason that workers anticipate to be equal cohorts in the process of decision-making. Another issue was to do with the relations among staff and board of members as well as the organizations governance (Betsill, &Corell, 2008). These stemmed mainly from the boards’ incapability or reluctance to perform their responsibilities to govern the organizations. Members of the Board frequently lacked the expertise or the time necessary to perform these responsibilities successfully. Consequently, senior workers were frequently left with little or even no support from the board of members to make policy verdicts.
Decision-Making and Governance
The picture of governance of numerous nonprofit organizations is quite complicated. Most NGOs are governed by self-appointingas well asself-perpetuating boards of directors.
