Select the two (2) duties identified by Ross that you believe most critical to law enforcement officers and their responsibilities to citizens. Provide the rationale for your choices.
In the philosophical work, William Ross presents seven prima facie duties in the basis for his explanation of the ethical theory. He reserves them as a list of obligations applied in various parts and aspects of individual status in living the good life and to be for one another's rescue in doing well (Schafer, & Mastrofski, 2005). These duties are general and cover all the areas of life but within the law enforcement unit, the following will be pertinent. First Ross talks of Justice as Fair Redistribution. The duty to ethical dispenses justice call for fair reactions and deciding on penitent matters. The reward to the applicability of common sense counts in dealing with crimes within the interpersonal and consensual level in the pursuit of law. The duty of applying common sense is paramount in enforcing the law and just as Ross presents it; it is a treatment of all in the society should be equal in the applicability of the natural law.
Second duty identified by Ross is Non-Malfeasance to Prevent Injury to Others. The duty according to the philosopher is to limit or avoid all the harm that may be directed one's self or others. Law enforcement officials like the police officers should refrain from cruelty and remain to value the individual integrity of the members of the society. The society should be a stage whereby no one hurts others and also try as possible to make others avoid the injury. The social inequality and education should be the focus of the police officers and all the law enforcement personnel to prevent harm in the society. Rather than being concerned with punishment, the law enforcement should ensure the individual freedom is granted, and education offered in case of need.

It is ethical according to Immanuel Kant to act within the moral standards to deliver for the benefit of the common good of the society.
The second duty is the Reparation to Those You Hurt. The responsibilities of making amends count for the proper actions of people within the community. The community is full of ethical decisions that call for responsibility and acting within then grounds of considerate respect to decisions made daily in life. The abandonment of hurtful behavior is all that makes society safe and moral in all manner of actions performed. Respect of decision of other matters much in the value of individual consideration of daily undertakings according to Aristotle (Mikhail, 2009).
Immanuel Kant’s ethical theory share much from Aristotle’s that emphasizes the input of law in the decisions made in society. Kant looks in the opinion the moral acts are those that are done out of duty and not out of concern for consequences. Commenting on the perfect world, people would make everyday ethical choices and comply with both perfect and imperfect duties (Sklar, 2009). The universal principles using the real life experiences are governed with rationality according to Kant and Aristotle. The underlying ethics in the decisions made in daily activities should remain to...
