Introduction
Societies have adopted norms, both consciously, such as the rule of law, and while others are unconscious in instances of consumption and sustainability. Amid the societal customs lies a concept of nudge that alludes to the element of choice construction, which changes individual behaviour in a way likely to forecast and without dictating the choices from which the behaviour is to be selected (Richter, Thøgersen, & Klöckner, 2018). However, the extent to which nudges may constitute written information is debatable as some studies support the inclusion while others do not. The development of neighbourhoods through handling communal norms can be effective through the adoption of nudges (Hendricks et al., 2018). Pedwell further observes that desired nudges have positive impacts on exemplary neighbourhood development, while negative nudging is the greatest undoing to societal development (2017).
